Get to Know Immanuel
Immanuel Jarvis and his family have lived in Durham, North Carolina since 2000. Since his arrival, he has served continuously in improving the lives of the citizens through acts of service to young people, servant leadership in the political arena, and innovations that inspire African Americans.
In 2012, Mr. Jarvis was introduced to the Durham Co. GOP and worked along other leaders to form the Black Republican Committee for the Durham GOP. He was given the title of Vice Chair and worked to display authentic Conservatism in the black community through food drives, coat drives, back-to-school drives, and creating forums where political diversity could be offered with decorum and mutual respect. With his help, the voter registration of Black Republicans has grown by over 20% in Durham since its inception.

His passions, however, reach further than public service. Together with his wife, Mr. Jarvis operates an urban livestock farm, a thriving business specializing in locally sourced meat and eggs. Currently, they serve over 8,000 families per month, offering protein for area food banks. Through summer farm camps, tours, farm-to-table meals, and homestead classes, they are educating and inspiring their community to stay connected to sustainability and agriculture.
Today, Mr. Jarvis is here to share his perspectives, drawing from his extensive experience across politics, community service, and entrepreneurship. His insights will inspire and empower us, as American citizens, to continue building a brighter and stronger future for our communities and nation.
